Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

All but 11 counties in the state are in the red status on the Indiana Department of Health’s updated County Metrics Map, meaning a very high community spread of COVID-19.

The 11 counties that are in the orange status this week include Warren, Fountain, Miami, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Jay, Blackford, Fayette, Switzerland, and Jefferson Counties.  

The spread of the COVID-19 virus remains a high concern in Indiana.  

There were 15,091 new cases of COVID-19 in the state from November 17, 2020 to January 11, 2022 in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  There were 97 new cases in Marshall County reported Wednesday, 28 new cases in Starke County and nine new cases in Pulaski County.

Another 125 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from September 30 to January 11, including two people in Pulaski County. 

There are 3,488 COVID-19 patients in hospitals around the state, according to the state’s coronavirus website.
