The Plymouth Fire Department has a new firefighter/paramedic.
Fire Chief Steve Holm presented Devan Garcia as a new hire to the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members last week.
“Devan comes to us from Goshen Fire Department, but he is from Plymouth,” explained Holm. “He has wanted to serve here for quite a while, but he did hire on with us part-time and then when we had an opening available he saw an opportunity to come back and work closer to home and serve the community where he grew up. We were more than happy to have him come on board with us.”
Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver administered the oath of office and swore in Garcia as a firefighter/paramedic for the Plymouth Fire Department. The board members welcomed Garcia to the fire department.
Meanwhile, the Plymouth Police Department is seeking a new police officer after the resignation of an officer. Applications are being taken for the open position on the force.
