There were 5,486 new COVID-19 cases reported in the state from December 13 to December 15, according to Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That number includes 44 new cases in Marshall County, 28 new cases in Starke County and five new cases in Pulaski County.
Another 55 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from November 22 through December 15.
The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms around the state has decreased slightly from Tuesday’s census. The state’s coronavirus dashboard showed a total number of 3,029 on Wednesday, compared to 3,058 on Tuesday.
While the Omicron variant is spreading across the country, the Delta variant is still the dominant variant found in samples analyzed by the state.
