Starke County and Marshall County are in the red status on the Indiana Department of Health’s updated County Metrics Map while Pulaski County remains in the orange status.
The spread of the COVID-19 virus remains a high concern in Indiana. There are more counties in the orange status this week, but 56 counties are reporting a very high community spread of COVID-19 and are in the red status.
There were 4,813 new cases of COVID-19 in the state in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health which pushes the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1.2 million. There were 41 new cases in Marshall County reported Wednesday, 37 new cases in Starke County and 10 new cases in Pulaski County.
Another 88 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from November 21 to December 21, including five people in Marshall County, one person in Starke County, and three people in Pulaski County.
