The Plymouth Community School Board members took action Tuesday night to ratify the Master Teacher Contract.
Superintendent Mitch Mawhorter told MAX News that Plymouth Education Association President Laura Kruyer commented during the special meeting that teachers gave the new contract a standing ovation, which was a first-time experience like that in her 26 years there.
Mawhorter previously said a qualifying teacher will get a $1,500 raise to the base salary with a beginning teacher’s minimum salary increased to $40,000. Other raises were also given based on teacher wages to catch up in a salary grid. Amendments were also made in terms of extra-curricular activities to put more personnel in areas to assist the number of students in certain activities.
The board ratified the contract with a unanimous vote.
