Plymouth Man Arrested after Allegedly Threatening Officer

A Plymouth Police Department officer arrested a man after reportedly finding him to be intoxicated and later belligerent.

The officer investigated a call about an unconscious man in the area of 1830 N. Michigan Street Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. ET.  Police say the man, later identified as 39-year-old Joshua McCarty, was checked by medical personnel and then transported to the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of public intoxication.

While on the way to the jail, McCarty allegedly became belligerent and started threatening the arresting officer.  McCarty became combative after arriving at the jail, according to the report.

McCarty was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of battery on a public service official, intimidation, and public intoxication.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
