Plymouth Man Arrested after Allegedly Fleeing from Police in Yellow River

A Plymouth man was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly attempted to flee from Plymouth police in the Yellow River.

Officers were called to the Red D Mart on Michigan Street in Plymouth after receiving information about reported an argument between a man and an employee.  As officers continued in an investigation, the man reportedly became the subject of a drug sales investigation.  During the investigation, police say the man fled from officers on foot and entered the Yellow River.  He eventually got out of the river and surrendered to officers, according to the report. 

At the time of the incident, officers did not immediately know the man’s identity as he allegedly provided them with false information.  He was later identified as 43-year-old Derrell Price II.  Police say Price II had two outstanding warrants out of Cass County from 2016. 

Price II was arrested on the two warrants, as well as preliminary charges of dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, false identity statements, and false informing. 

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
