There were 36 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the tri-county area, according to Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Marshall County had 27 new cases, Starke County had four new cases and Pulaski County had five new cases. They were among 2,065 new cases reported in the state Thursday.
An additional 22 people have died of COVID-19 in the state from October 19 to November 3.
Pediatric COVID-19 vaccination appointments for children ages 5 to 11 can now be scheduled by visiting www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211. State health officials recommend making an appointment to help minimize wait times and to ensure that sufficient vaccine is available.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized for use in individuals under age 18.
Residents 12 and older are eligible to receive the standard COVID-19 vaccine. Booster doses are available to Hoosiers who meet certain criteria. Those who are 65 years of age and older, and those 18 and older who live in long-term care settings, have underlying medical conditions, or live in high-risk settings are eligible for a booster dose.
