Local Municipalities Receive Community Crossings Matching Grant Funds

Several local communities have been awarded Indiana Department of Transportation Community Crossings Matching Grant funds for local road projects.

The Town of Argos received nearly $723,000 which will be used for road work on several streets, plus and curb and sidewalk in a few of the listed areas.  Projects include Pond Street from State Road 10 south to the railroad tracks, East Church Street from Michigan to North Maple, Smith Street from Michigan to North Maple, East Williams Street from South Michigan to Lincoln Street, West Street from South Street to Broadway, Second Street from South Street to Broadway, Logan Street, and Sidney Street.  

The Town of Bremen received about $382,000 for the resurfacing of Woodies Lane from Plymouth Street to 3rd Road. 

The Town of Bourbon received about $265,000 for pavement overlay on Sunset Drive from State Road 331 to Washington Street, Washington Street from Park Avenue to Jefferson Street, and Jefferson Street from Washington Street to Harris Street.  Several streets will be resurfaced including Thayer Street from Sunset Drive to Liberty Avenue, Thompson Street from North Street to Park Avenue, East Liberty Avenue from Thompson Street to State Road 331, and East Liberty Avenue from North Harris Street to Triton Drive. Work on Thompson Street and East Liberty Avenue will involve new sidewalks.  

The Community Crossings Matching Grant program has provided more than $1 billion in state matching funds since 2016.
