The John Glenn School Board members approved the Master Teacher Contract when they met Tuesday night.
The agreement for the first year of the two-year contract calls for differentiated raises for teachers between $2,000 and $8,000 based on years of service and degrees. The minimum starting salary will be $41,000 and maximum salary will be $76,175 for the first year. In the second year, teachers will receive differentiated raises of $700 or $775 with the minimum salary being $41,000 and maximum salary of $76,950. Two ECA positions have been added for middle school soccer and elementary year book, and the TLP portion of the contract agreement will be removed.
With that, the board approved the raises and updated salaries for certified staff and administrators.
The board also took action to accept classified staff increases and the Non-Certified wage schedule. Superintendent Christopher Winchell explained the details with the wage schedule.
“It reflects a $2.00 per hour raise for all hourly employees, and it provides an updated regular bus route rate to $100 per day. It also provides from updated longevity pay scale for our bus drivers.”
Salaried classified staff members will also receive differentiated raises.
Additionally, the Non-Certified Staff Handbook was also updated concerning a retirement contribution with a one-time $500 stipend for non-salaried Classified staff.
“I’m also recommending that we provide a one-time $500 stipend to all non-salaried Classified staff and that $500 will be, in most cases, more than the one percent that used to go to the retirement account and then we will discontinue the one percent to the retirement account and make available to our people self-directed retirement accounts.”
The school board approved all changes with a unanimous vote.
