Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Marshall, Starke and Pulaski Counties remain in the orange status on the Indiana Department of Health’s updated County Metrics Map.  The orange status indicates a high spread of COVID-19.

LaGrange, DeKalb and Newton Counties are the only counties in the state in the red status this week while Washington County is the only county in the blue status.  The rest of the counties are in areas where there is a moderate-to-high community spread of COVID-19.

There were 2,842 new cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  There were 37 new cases in Marshall County, 8 new cases in Starke County and 10 new cases in Pulaski County.

Another 16 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from November 3 to November 9.

In the updated long-term care facility report, there were 127 newly reported resident cases of COVID-19 in the state from December 4, 2020 to November 2, 2021, and 16 newly reported resident deaths from September 29, 2021 to November 9, 2021.  Locally, there were less than five new resident cases at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.

The COVID-19 vaccine is free to residents 12 and older.  The pediatric COVID-19 vaccine is available for free to children age 5 to 11.   More information on vaccination sites can be found at www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
