Forty New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally, Strike Team in Marshall County Friday and Saturday

Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health showed 31 new cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County, six new cases in Starke County and three new cases in Pulaski County.  There were 2,940 new COVID-19 cases reported statewide.

Another 18 deaths were newly reported to the state.  Three people in Marshall County were included in that update. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is free.  The pediatric COVID-19 vaccine is available to children ages 5-11 and the standard COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents 12 and older.  To find the nearest vaccination site, visit www.ourshot.in.gov.  

The Indiana Department of Health Strike Team will be at the Marshall County Health Department COVID-19 testing site at 2855 Miller Drive in Plymouth behind Lifeplex Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13 from Noon to 8 p.m. ET both days.  Drive-thru COVID-19 vaccines will be available in the primary series, children’s vaccine, and the booster doses. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered.  Additionally, rapid and PCR COVID-19 testing will be available. 

The vaccination rate in Marshall County is at 44.1 percent, while it is 44.3 percent in Pulaski County and 38.7 percent in Starke County.  The state’s vaccination rate is at 52.1 percent. 

The number of breakthrough cases is up to 62,396, with 1,304 breakthrough hospitalizations and 659 breakthrough deaths.
