Culver Community School Corporation Food Service Director Gretchen Johnson will soon be getting rid of some equipment that was deemed as surplus.
Superintendent Karen Shuman explained to the school board members this week that the installation of a new walk-in freezer resulted in some rearranging in the stock rooms. Johnson found some old equipment that came from the former Monterey Elementary School Building, which may be more than 30 years old, and some items that became obsolete with the previous installation of a new serving line.
Shuman said some items may be sold while others will be disposed of either by recycling or simply thrown in the garbage.
The board members approved a motion to allow Johnson to clear out any surplus equipment.
