Any Hoosier 18 and older can now receive a booster shot of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The booster dose may be administered six months after the second dose of the vaccine.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved the administration of the booster dose Friday following the FDA’s decision to expand its Emergency Use Authorization for boosters.
Residents may choose which COVID-19 vaccine to receive as a booster shot. Those who received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible for a booster two months or more after the initial dose.
Adults wishing to obtain a booster dose may go to www.ourshot.in.gov or call 211 to find a vaccination site.
