There were 16 new COVID-19 cases reported in the tri-county area including seven cases in Pulaski County, five in Marshall County and four in Starke County, according to Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. Overall, there were 1,114 new cases in the state.
There was one COVID-19 death reported to the state in Monday’s update that occurred October 2.
As of Sunday, there were 1,746 COVID-19 patients in hospitals around Indiana.
In the state’s weekly school coronavirus update, there were 2,359 new student cases from August 30 to October 8. There were 137 new teacher cases from September 7 to October 8, and 206 new staff positive cases from August 20 to October 8.
Locally less than five student cases were reported at Culver Community Middle/High School, Plymouth High School, Menominee Elementary School, Riverside Intermediate School, Jefferson Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, Webster Elementary School, Bremen High School, Bremen Elementary/Middle School, LaVille Jr./Sr. High School, Urey Middle School, and Walkerton Elementary School.
John Glenn High School had eight new student cases.
There were less than five teacher cases at Bremen Elementary/Middle School and Urey Middle School.
Less than five staff cases were reported at Culver Community Middle/High School, Plymouth High School, Webster Elementary School, and John Glenn High School.
