Another 53 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the tri-county area.
Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health showed 37 new cases in Marshall County, nine new cases in Starke County and seven new cases in Pulaski County.
Statewide there were 1,940 new cases of COVID-19 that were reported to the Indiana Department Health Thursday.
An additional 17 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19 from October 9 to October 28.
The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals around the state has dropped below 1,300 for the first time since August 10. The hospital census found on the state’s coronavirus website showed 1,297 patients.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free to residents 12 and older. To find the nearest vaccination site, visit www.ourshot.in.gov. Booster doses are available to those who meet certain eligibility requirements. Residents who are 65 years of age and older, and those 18 and older who live in long-term care settings, have underlying medical conditions, or live in high-risk settings are eligible to receive a booster dose.
