Unemployment rates are dropping in the tri-county area.
More people are finding work, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Marshall County’s rate in September was 2.6 percent compared to 3.1 percent in August, Starke County’s unemployment rate was 3.9 percent in September compared to 4.4 percent in August, and Pulaski County’s unemployment rate was 3.0 percent in September compared to 3.3 percent in August.
Those figures are fairing better than the non-seasonally adjusted rate at 4.6 percent in the U.S. in September. Indiana’s non-seasonally adjusted rate was 3.5 percent in September.
