Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman and local enforcement officers urge parents to check the sex offender registry before taking children out for trick-or-treating this weekend so they know which homes to avoid.
Chipman noted that the addresses of sex offenders are listed so parents can plan a safe route for their children. While on the website, residents can sign up for free email notifications if an offender should move into their neighborhood.
The sex offender registry is available on the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department website at www.sheriffmarshallcounty.org.
There are currently 91 registered sex offenders in Marshall County.
