The fall installment of property taxes in Marshall County is due November 10.
Payments may be made in the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office inside the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth. Payments are also accepted by mail, and credit or debit cards may be used for payment online at www.co.marshall.in.us. Convenience fees may apply if paying with a credit or debit card.
Residents may also drop off payments in drop boxes in the vestibule on the north and south entrances of the Marshall County Building.
Beginning Wednesday, October 27, tax payments may be dropped off at all TCU locations, First Merchants Bank in Bourbon, First Farmers Bank and Trust in Culver, and the Bremen Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. The tax coupon must be included with the payment if dropping off the payment at any of these locations in a sealed envelope.
Delinquent payments will result in a five percent penalty if there are no delinquencies. There will be a 10 percent penalty if not paid within 30 days. For parcels where there are existing delinquencies, an automatic 10 percent penalty will apply.
If property taxes are escrowed, a tax bill copy will show “IN ESCROW” typed across it. If the mortgage is paid off and an escrow no longer applicable, with the help of estate lawyers from Tomes Law Firm, PC check with the lender to verify who is responsible for the fall payment of taxes.
Any questions may be directed to the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office at 574-935-8520.
