Marshall, Starke and Pulaski Counties are in the orange status on the Indiana Department of Health’s updated County Metrics Map. The orange status indicates a high spread of COVID-19.
Blackford County is the only county in the state in the red status this week while Monroe County is the only county in the blue status. The rest of the state is in areas where there is a moderate-to-high community spread of COVID-19.
There were 2,066 new cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. There were 31 new cases in Marshall County, 12 new cases in Starke County and five new cases in Pulaski County.
Another 60 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from August 8 to October 26, including one person in Marshall County.
In the updated long-term care facility report, there were 108 new resident cases of COVID-19 in the state from September 20 to October 19, and 15 resident deaths from September 24 to October 24. Locally, there were less than five deaths reported at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
