More counties in the state are moving to the yellow category on the Indiana Department of Health’s County Metrics map, but the tri-county area is still seeing a high community spread of COVID-19.
Starke County is in the red status on the map which indicates a very high community spread of COVID-19, while Pulaski County and Marshall County are in the orange category which indicates a high community spread. Starke County shows a 21 percent 7-day positivity rate. Marshall County shows a six percent 7-day positivity rate and Pulaski County shows a nine percent 7-day positivity rate.
Another 2,773 people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19, which includes 30 more people in Marshall County, 15 people in Starke County and 13 people in Pulaski County, according to Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
An additional 32 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19.
The state’s weekly long-term care facility update shows that Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth reported less than five new resident cases of COVID-19. Statewide there were 126 new cases identified between January 2020 and October 5, 2021 and 20 new resident deaths between August 27 and October 11 of this year.
