Forty New Cases of COVID-19 Reported Locally

Another 40 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the tri-county area.  There were 18 people in Marshall County diagnosed with COVID-19, 18 people in Starke County and four people in Pulaski County.  They were among 1,822 new cases in the state, according to Monday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.

There were no new deaths reported in the state. 

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to decrease.  The census on the Indiana Department of Health’s coronavirus website shows 1,861 people in the hospital on October 3 which is 320 less people from Sunday, September 26.

The updated state’s school coronavirus dashboard shows 2,906 new cases from July 27 to October 1, 155 new teacher cases from August 29 to October 1, and 257 new staff cases from July 29 to October 1. 

Locally, less than five new student COVID-19 cases were reported at Culver Elementary School, Plymouth High School, Lincoln Junior High School, Riverside Intermediate, Webster Elementary, Washington Discovery Academy, Menominee Elementary, Laville Junior/Senior High School, John Glenn High School, Urey Middle School, and Walkerton Elementary School. 

Less than five new teacher cases were reported at John Glenn High School and Walkerton Elementary School, while less than five staff cases were reported at Culver Elementary School, Menominee Elementary School and North Liberty Elementary School.
