Another 50 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Tri-County area, according to Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.
Marshall County had 23 new cases, Starke County had 19 new cases and Pulaski County had eight new cases. They were among 2,326 new cases in the state, pushing the overall total in the state to 979,000 since March 2020.
An additional 29 people in the state have died of COVID-19 between September 29 and October 6.
The number of breakthrough cases remains unchanged from last week. The total number of cases is 39,176 with 845 hospitalizations and 334 breakthrough deaths.
The vaccination rate in Marshall County is 47.9 percent, while it is 47.2 percent in Pulaski County and 41.2 percent in Starke County. The state’s vaccination rate is 56.2 percent.
