FBI Presents Certificate of Appreciation to Plymouth, Marshall County Officers

Officers from the Plymouth Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were recently presented with Certificates of Appreciation from the FBI for collaborative work in the Mercedes Lain investigation.

Eleven-month-old Mercedes Lain was reported missing Sunday, August 15.  She was found deceased Wednesday, August 18 in an area near 1025 E. and 50 N. in Starke County.  

It was the hard work and dedication of the officers who worked in a joint effort in the case.  FBI Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Jim Keszei and FBI Special Agent Tom Weber presented certificates to Detective Derek Workman, Detective Ben McIntyre and Officer Jeremy Enyart of the Plymouth Police Department, along with Detective Sergeant Jonathan Bryant from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.  The presentation was Friday, October 22. 


The certificates states, “The FBI extends its appreciation for your outstanding assistance in a joint investigative effort. Your contributions were immeasurable, and you have the gratitude of the FBI for all you did to help accomplish the objectives of the investigation. You can be proud of the role you played, and I join my associates with whom you worked in congratulating you on a job well done.”  The certificate was signed by FBI Director Christopher A. Wray.
