Five contestants will have an opportunity to win $4,900 in college scholarships and represent the community in the Distinguished Young Woman of Triton program this Saturday night (October 9).
Sadie Barber, Melissa Slabaugh, and HaileyJo Mendoza of Bourbon, and Hanna Hooley and Emma Lemler of Tippecanoe will be competing in scholastics, interview, talent, fitness, and self-expression in this 58th annual event. The winner will move on to the state competition to be named one of Indiana’s Distinguished Young Women for cash scholarships and the opportunity to participate in the 64th Distinguished Young Woman of America program.
Triton’s 2021 Distinguished Young Woman Madeline Ritchison will return to share her experience, take a final walk, and announce the 2022 winner.
Saturday’s program begins at 7 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased from the contestants or at the door for $6.00. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Triton Performing Arts Center. All proceeds go toward the scholarship fund and the program’s sustaining fees.
