The Culver School Board members took action Monday night to adopt the 2022 budget, Capital Projects Plan and Bus Replacement Plan.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said the total budget is around $14.9 million.
“The majority of that is going into our Education Fund so we are hoping that we can get to levels that we need to for our teacher salaries to meet that new requirement of the $40,000 by 2023. We anticipate to be able to get that potentially in this contract year,” said Shuman.
Treasurer Casey Howard previously presented information on the budget which includes a Referendum Fund estimate of $2.1 million, a Rainy Day Fund of $400,000, School Pension Debt of $269,840, an Education Fund of about $5.7 million and an Operations Budget of about $4.6 million.
Howard also reviewed the Bus Replacement Plan. The corporation plans on replacing two buses this year and in 2022, three buses in 2023, and two buses in 2024 and in 2025.
The Capital Projects plan outlines several building improvements for the next three years including playground equipment, lockers, baseball/softball lights, weights and machines, student file cabinets and desks and a transportation bus washer.
The board members unanimously approved resolutions pertaining to the budget process.
