The Bourbon Town Council members reviewed paperwork last week that would designate an Economic Revitalization Area on Elm Road for future tax abatement.
Town Council President Ward Byers explained that CT Polymers, LLC purchased the building that formerly housed OmniSource operations at 12340 Elm Road and will move operations there late this year or early 2022. Company officials are seeking real property and personal property tax abatement.
The town council members approved the resolution designating the area as an Economic Revitalization Area with a unanimous vote of the council members present. Les McFarland was not in attendance.
The first reading of the tax abatement will be considered at the November 9 meeting with a full presentation from CT Polymers, LLC officials.
