Triton School Board Approves Resolution Regarding COVID-19 Guidelines

The Triton School Board members reviewed a resolution Monday night that would delegate authority when it comes to COVID-19 within the school corporation.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said the board members are permitted to do that with the authorization from the Indiana School Board Association.

Riffle stated, “Based on all of the information that we’ve seen from other schools around us, it allows us to move swiftly if we need to pivot to masking or other more restrictive measures in the corporation without holding a special board meeting.  They just allowed, much like we did last year with that COVID delegation, we did that again this year.”

The resolution was approved.

Riffle said several close contacts have been identified this school year with no positive tests.

“We’re doing really well right now.  We understand that we’re not naïve enough to think that that can’t change quickly, but right now the numbers are holding pretty steady.  We monitor those multiple times a day with a spreadsheet and our nurses continue to triage and fill those out as they interact with kids,” said Riffle.
