A call about a possible theft incident eventually led to a foot pursuit in an incident in Marshall County Tuesday morning.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a theft around 9:45 a.m. ET in the 1500 block of Lilac Road in Plymouth. Officers met with the victim and received information about the description of the individuals suspected of the act. One person was later found on Maple Road about one mile south of U.S. 6, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Officers approached the suspect, 25-year-old Nicholas William of South Bend, and he allegedly fled on foot in the woods after being ordered to stop. After a short foot pursuit, William was apprehended.
William was taken to the Marshall County Jail and faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and failing to identify.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
