A Plymouth woman was arrested in the overnight hours Thursday following a traffic stop in the area of Roy Street and Quince Road in Walkerton.
During the traffic stop, K9 Irok was deployed to conduct a free air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Police say K9 Irok alerted to the presence of narcotics and the vehicle was searched. Officers reportedly found methamphetamine and a syringe. The driver, 36-year-old Autumn Burnham, was taken to the Marshall County Jail. While at the jail, officers allegedly found cocaine and heroin hidden on her person.
Burnham faces preliminary charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, and trafficking with an inmate.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
