A Peru man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a Marshall County traffic stop.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies conducted the traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 and 14th Road in Plymouth just before 12:23 p.m.. K9 Diesel was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics, according to the report. Officers reportedly located suspected drugs. Police say the driver, 37-year-old Michael Greenfield, was also found to be driving with a suspended license.
Greenfield was transported to the Marshall County Jail. While there, officers found suspected methamphetamine on his person.
Greenfield faces preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, legend drug deception, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, and trafficking with an inmate.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
