Another 3,659 people in the state have been diagnosed with COVID-19 including 22 people in Marshall County, 14 people in Starke County and 20 people in Pulaski County in Thursday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.
An additional 28 people in the state have died of COVID-19 between September 10 and September 22.
The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals in the state has dropped. Wednesday’s census showed 2,336 patients which represents 100 less patients than the day before and 188 less than one week ago.
Over 6.4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana while 3.2 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated. The vaccination rate in Marshall County is up to 46.9 percent while it is 46.2 percent in Pulaski County and 40.4 percent in Starke County.
The updated breakthrough statistics show a total of 28,790 cases, 640 hospitalizations and 183 deaths.
The Indiana Department of Health will be at the Starke County Fairgrounds Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25 from Noon to 8 p.m. CT both days to offer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to residents.
Rapid antigen and PCR testing are available with no appointments necessary at the fairgrounds at 400 Division Street in Hamlet. The Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available. The Pfizer vaccine can be administered to children from age 12 to 17.
