Mitch Mawhorter is getting himself acclimated to the staff and buildings at Plymouth Community School Corporation. The Plymouth School Board recently hired him as superintendent. His contract began September 1.
Mawhorter comes to Plymouth after serving as the superintendent of Union-North United School Corporation for 10 years. Mawhorter said Plymouth’s most recent interim superintendent, Dr. Diane Woodworth, will be the interim superintendent at Union-North United School Corporation and guide them through the search of a new superintendent. That school corporation will be working with the University Superintendent Search Team to find the next Union-North United superintendent.
Mawhorter said he is having fun at Plymouth so far and will soon attend his first school board meeting September 7. He commented that everyone has been welcoming so far.
