There were 48 new COVID-19 cases reported in the tri-county area, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. Another 29 people in Marshall County tested positive with COVID-19, along with 13 more people in Starke County and six more people in Pulaski County. They were among 4,368 new cases in the state.
An additional 32 people in the state have died of COVID-19 between August 6 and September 16, including one person in Pulaski County.
The Indiana Department of Health is hosting a COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinic in Plymouth and in Francesville Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18.
The site in Plymouth will be open from noon to 8 p.m. ET both days at the Lifeplex on Miller Drive. The Indiana Department of Health will be at the Francesville Fall Festival on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET at 102 E. Montgomery Street.
No appointments are necessary. Rapid antigen and PCR tests are available. The Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available during these events. Children 12-17 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine only.

Nearly 6.4 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Indiana with almost 3.2 million Hoosiers who are fully vaccinated. The vaccination rate in Marshall County is at 46.3 percent, while it is 45.8 percent in Pulaski County and 40 percent in Starke County.
