Starke County and Pulaski County are in the red status on this week’s updated Indiana Department of Health County Metrics Map. The red status means there is a very high community spread of COVID-19. Marshall County remains in the orange status, or a high community spread of COVID-19.
There were 2,888 newly reported cases of COVID-19 in the state with 15 new cases in Marshall County, 18 in Starke County and eight in Pulaski County.
Another 65 COVID-19 deaths were reported statewide from August 25 to September 28.
According to the long-term care facility weekly update, there were less than five resident cases at Catherine Kasper Home in Donaldson and at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth. There were less than five deaths at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
The Indiana Department of Health Strike Team will be in Pulaski County Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2 from Noon to 8 p.m. ET at the Winamac Knights of Columbus to offer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to residents.
Rapid antigen and PCR testing are available with no appointments necessary. The Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available. The Pfizer vaccine can be administered to children from age 12 to 17.
