Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County remain in the orange status on the Indiana Department of Health’s updated County Metrics Map.  The orange status indicates a high community spread of COVID-19.

Only three counties in the state are in the yellow status.  Porter County is in that classification, along with LaGrange County and Monroe County.  Twenty-one counties are in the red status, while the rest of the state is in the orange status.

Another 2,952 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, including 10 people in Marshall County, seven people in Starke County and three people in Pulaski County, according to Wednesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.

An additional 86 newly reported COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state between August 21 and September 7.

Over four million unique individuals have been tested for COVID-19 in Indiana and a total of 12.6 million tests, including repeat tests, have been reported to the state since February 26, 2020.

The Indiana Department of Health will have a drive-thru testing and vaccination clinic in Pulaski County Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11 from noon to 8 p.m. ET at the Winamac Knights of Columbus.

Wednesday’s long-term care facility update on the state’s coronavirus dashboard shows another 97 new resident COVID-19 cases and 13 resident deaths.  Those statistics did not show they occurred at local facilities.

The COVID-19 vaccine is free to residents 12 and older.  To find the nearest vaccination site, visit www.ourshot.in.gov.
