Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County are in the orange status on this week’s Indiana Department of Health’s county metrics map which indicates a high community spread of COVID-19. Fulton County is in the red status, along with 12 counties in the southern portion of the state. Only four counties are in the yellow status which indicates a moderate spread of COVID-19. There are no counties in the blue status.
There were 44 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Marshall County in Wednesday’s update, along with 21 new cases in Pulaski County and 19 cases in Starke County. They were among 4,822 new cases in the state.
There were 29 newly reported deaths between August 19 and August 31, two of which were in Marshall County.
There are six less people in hospitals in Indiana than from Tuesday’s report.
In the weekly long-term care facilities update, 110 new resident cases were reported in the state from October 29, 2020 to August 24, 2021 and 15 resident deaths between August 18, 2021 and August 29, 2021. No new cases or deaths were reported locally.
