Elevate Argos officials are hosting a September 11 Remembrance Walk and Ceremony Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET that begins at the Argos Community School Corporation and ends at Memorial Park.
The length of the walk is approximately the same number of steps a firefighter would have taken going up the stairs of the twin towers.
Key Organizer Jon VanDerWeele stated in a press release that 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, and eight emergency service members made the ultimate sacrifice during an act of terrorism on American soil and this is a chance to remember them.
The Remembrance Ceremony at Memorial Park immediately following the walk at 6 p.m. ET will feature speakers, the Argos Jr./Sr. High School choir and high school students during the presentation.
Members of the community who cannot participate in the walk may go directly to Memorial Park. There will not be a shuttle service available.
