Culver School Board Holds Public Hearing on 2022 Budget

The Culver Community School Board members held a public hearing over the 2022 budget when they met this week.

Treasurer Casey Howard presented information on the budget which includes a Referendum Fund estimate of $2.1 million, a Rainy Day Fund of $400,000, School Pension Debt of $269,840, an Education Fund of about $5.7 million and an Operations Budget of about $4.6 million.  The budget totals nearly $15 million. 

Howard also reviewed the Bus Replacement Plan which was included in the public hearing notice.  The corporation plans on replacing two buses this year and in 2022, three buses in 2023, and two buses in 2024 and in 2025. 

The Capital Projects Plan was also presented for comment that shows projected project costs over $10,000. 

All of the budget documents are available on the state’s Gateway website or the school’s website.

There were no other public comments given during the hearing. 

Following the hearing, the school board unanimously approved the resolutions that pertain to the Capital Projects Plan and the Bus Replacement Plan. 

The board plans to adopt the budget at their next meeting on Monday, October 4 at 7 p.m. ET.
