Construction on the second phase of the Culver Lake Max Trail is expected to begin in the next month or so.
The second phase of the Lake Max Trail includes a one-mile extension of the trail from the Culver Park to Washington Street, Plymouth Street and South Main Street.
A preconstruction meeting was recently held to discuss certain aspects of the project that will continue the first phase of the trail through the Culver Town Park.
The design of the trail has undergone several amendments to accommodate residents along the route who had concerns about the size of the trail through their properties, mostly along Plymouth Street. The amendments also addressed drainage issues in some areas.
The third phase of the trail by Culver Academies is still in the early phases with utility easements still under negotiation. The amended route of the third phase of the trail would go from the Culver Town Park to the old railroad corridor, across State Road 10 to Sycamore Road, east to 16C, and then 16C back toward State Road 10.
