Bourbon Town Council Adopts Fee Ordinance for Permits and Processes

The Bourbon Town Council members again reviewed an ordinance this week that would create a fee schedule for permits and processes for the Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission.

Bourbon Building Commissioner and Zoning Enforcement Officer Chuck DeWitt previously explained that when the application fee is obtained, a fee will be due at that time.  He said other municipalities have a similar ordinance in effect.

Plan Commission fees would include $75 for a zoning ordinance change or rezoning, a minor subdivision application fee of $100, a major subdivision application fee of $150, and a plus subdivision application fee of $2.00 per lot.  A Planned Unit Development (PUD) application fee would be $150 and a plus is $2.00 per lot.

Board of Zoning Appeals fees would be $75 each for a special use/exception, a use variance or a variance of developmental standards.

The proceeds would be receipted to the General Fund in the line item “Other Services and Charges”.

The town council had approved the first reading during their August meeting.  They agreed to suspend the rules and pass the ordinance on second and third readings, thus adopting the ordinance, Tuesday night.  It will be advertised as fees are established within the document.
