Over 40 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally

Another 5,027 Hoosiers have tested positive with COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  In Marshall County, 27 people have tested positive, along with 12 people in Pulaski County and seven people in Starke County. 

An additional 12 people have died of COVID-19 in a range of August 21 to August 25. 

The number of people who are hospitalized with COVID-19 in hospitals around the state keeps increasing.  Thursday’s census was 2,108. 

The Indiana Department of Health says there are a total 12,783 breakthrough cases so far when tracking COVID-19 variants, along with 322 breakthrough hospitalizations and 93 breakthrough deaths. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is free for Hoosiers 12 and older.  Vaccination sites are listed at www.ourshot.in.gov.  Residents can also call 211 to get more information.  The vaccination rate in Marshall County is 44.4 percent, 43.3 percent in Pulaski County and 38.6 percent in Starke County.
