Over 1,600 Additional Hoosiers Diagnosed with COVID-19

Another 1,685 Hoosiers have tested positive with COVID-19 with 16 people in Marshall County, two people in Starke County and one person in Pulaski County.

Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health shows no additional COVID-19 deaths. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents 12 and older.  To find the nearest vaccination site, visit www.ourshot.in.gov.  Vaccinations and free COVID-19 testing will be offered from noon to 8 p.m. CT at the Rural King parking lot at 1460 W. State Road 2 in La Porte until Wednesday, August 25. 

The state’s updated school coronavirus dashboard shows 3,504 new student positive cases from November 13, 2020 to August 20, 2021.  There were 172 new teacher positive cases from October 25, 2020 to August 20, 2021 and 218 new staff cases from April 15, 2020 to August 20, 2021. 

Locally, there were less than five new student COVID-19 cases reported at Lincoln Junior High School, Riverside Intermediate School, Webster Elementary School, Bremen High School, Bremen Elementary/Middle School, LaVille Junior/Senior High School, LaVille Elementary School, John Glenn High School, Walkerton Elementary School, North Liberty Elementary School, and Culver Academies. 

There were seven new cases reported at Jefferson Elementary School. 

There were less than five new teacher cases at Jefferson Elementary School, Bremen Elementary/Middle School, and less than five new staff cases at Riverside Intermediate School, LaVille Elementary School, and North Liberty Elementary School.
