More COVID-19 Cases, Deaths Reported in Indiana

Nearly 50 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the tri-county area, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.

There were 22 new cases in Marshall County, 14 new cases in Starke County and 13 new cases in Pulaski County.  They are among 4,893 Hoosiers who also tested positive with COVID-19 on August 26.  Testing sites can be found at www.coronavirus.in.gov.  

Another 21 people in the state have died of COVID-19 from August 20, 2021 to August 26, 2021.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms has steadily increased over the last couple of weeks.  Friday’s census was at 2,186, which nearly 80 more patients than Thursday’s count. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents 12 and older.  The nearest vaccination clinic can be found at www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.  Over 6.1 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Indiana while almost 3.1 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.
