Masks Now Mandatory inside Marshall County Courthouse

Beginning today, masks are required inside the Marshall County Courthouse.

Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Curtis Palmer recently made the announcement based on Marshall County’s low vaccination rate, high community spread, and guidance from the CDC, Marshall County Health Department and the Indiana Supreme Court.

Judge Palmer said until further notice, litigants for a hearing, only the parties to a case, their lawyers and necessary witnesses should enter the courthouse.  No children should be brought into the courthouse without prior permission from the clerk or judge involved in the case.

Members of the public should wear a mask at all times while inside the building.  A limited number of masks may be available at the security checkpoint.  Social distancing is encouraged.

If a person scheduled for a hearing is symptomatic or diagnosed with COVID-19, or if anyone in the household is the same, contact the court to continue the case.

Requests for information may be made by calling the courts or handled online.  In some cases, hearings will be held on Zoom.
