Members of the Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board agree that the illegal trash dumping at Memorial Forest on State Road 17 has reduced, but it is still an ongoing issue.
Board President Greg Hildebrand said he will look into installing a couple of posts and a cable in the area further down a lane to deter people from driving back to the area to commit the act.
The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board members will not tolerate littering or illegal dumping at Memorial Forest or at any of the county’s park systems.
The park board members previously discussed looking at ways to possibly attach a fine to those found to be at fault or other consequences to stop illegal trash dumping or littering from occurring.
They encourage any illegal activities to be reported to police.
