The John Glenn School Board members and Superintendent Christopher Winchell have decided to keep current guidelines when it comes to COVID-19.
Winchell noted that masks will continue to be optional, except on school buses where a federal mandate is in place that requires all passengers on public transportation to wear a mask.
Winchell commented, “We’re continuing with strongly encouraging vaccines, strongly encouraging mask usage – not requiring either one of those things. We will continue to contact trace and quarantine, and continue to monitor our numbers.”
As previously reported, quarantine will be required for students and adults if they are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Winchell stated that the school corporation will not impose a mask mandate unless the local Health Departments feels it is necessary, or if there is local outbreak.
