The John Glenn School Board still hopes to move Head Start classes to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Walkerton to expand the corporation’s current program.
Superintendent Christopher Winchell said an agreement with the church is being negotiated.
Once those documents are approved, construction projects can occur at the church to accommodate the expansion of Head Start classes there.
It was previously reported that the expansion project was initiated in order to accommodate more students in the Head Start program. St. Patrick’s Church held classes there for many years before closing their doors a few years ago. There will be updates to the classrooms to make way for the current learning environment.
Head Start classes are currently being held at the Walkerton Elementary School. It will expand for more students at a later time.
