State Health officials have found that most of the state is showing a moderate-to-high community spread of COVID-19, according to the updated Indiana Department of Health’s County Metrics Map. Marshall, Starke and Pulaski Counties are in the moderate level, or yellow status, of community spread.
Randolph County is the only county in the state that represents a low community spread of COVID-19 while eight counties are in the red status that indicates a very high community spread of COVID-19. Forty counties are in the moderate category while forty-three are in the high category.
Another 2,507 people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19 with eight new cases in Marshall County, seven new cases in Starke County and two new cases in Pulaski County.
An additional 19 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19 from July 26 to August 10.
In the weekly long-term care facility update, there were 60 new resident cases and six resident deaths in facilities across the state. None of the deaths occurred at local facilities when looking at the map on the state’s website.
