Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

More and more counties in the state are showing a higher spread of COVID-19, according to the updated County Metrics Map on the Indiana Department of Health’s coronavirus website.

Marshall County and Starke County are still showing a low community spread of COVID-19 this week on the map while Pulaski County is still showing a moderate spread of COVID-19.  Posey County shows a very high community spread of COVID-19, while 29 counties are experiencing a high community spread of COVID-19.  There are only 15 counties in the blue status this week.

The number of cases keeps rising with 1,774 new cases in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  Marshall County and Starke County each had six residents test positive with COVID-19 while Pulaski County had four new cases.   

Fourteen more people in the state have died of COVID-19, raising the total number of deaths to 13,610. 

An update to the long-term care facility dashboard shows 17 new resident cases in the state from November 17, 2020 to July 26, 2021.  Three deaths were confirmed from October 12, 2020 to July 15, 2021.  No new cases or deaths were reported locally.
